The Sacrament of Baptism

Congratulations to your family! Whether you are preparing to Baptize your infant or you are an adult who has made the decision to be initiated into the faith, Holy Spirit Parish WELCOMES you and has a wonderful Baptismal preparation process for you.

Baptism is 1 of 3 Sacraments necessary for full initiation into the Catholic faith. Because the Catholic Church is a Christian denomination, if you have been baptized in another Christian tradition (e.g., Baptist, Lutheran, Methodist, etc.) you do not need to be re-baptized in the Catholic Church. All Christians share one common Baptism.

If you are seeking baptism for your child or for yourself, we do ask that you register as an official member of our parish so that we can fully support your faith journey. There are a couple of ways to register:

  1.  Stop by the Parish Office during normal business hours
    (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.).

  2. Click here for a Parish Registration form! Once you have printed it and completed it,
return it to the Parish Office by dropping it in the collection basket, dropping
it in our "drop box" (the gold mail slot next to the lower Parish Office door),
fax it (314-739-0237), e-mail it (msaputo@holyspiritstl.org) or "snail" mail
(3130 Parkwood Ln., Maryland Heights, MO 63043).

Infant Baptism

Baptism of infants is normally celebrated after the last Sunday Mass. It is essential for parents and godparents to participate in a Baptismal Preparation Class. These classes are typically held on the first Monday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Gathering Area of Church.

Adult Baptism
