'King to Queen' Rosary Run & Victory Festival

Join the St. Mary of Victories community downtown Saturday, October 7, for the kick-off celebration of the church's 175th anniversary year and the Feast of Our Lady of Victories (Our Lady of the Rosary). It's actually an evangelization event for the whole Archdiocese!

A 5-kilometer "Rosary Run" and "Hungarian Fun Run" will begin at the Old Cathedral at 8:00 a.m., passing through nearby streets and finishing at St. Mary of Victories (744 S. 3rd Street). Participants will be supplied with finger Rosaries to pray while running, jogging or walking. After so many secular marathons and parades downtown, this is the first time a public manifestation of Catholic faith of this sort has been staged in our city! Spectators can bring their pictures, icons and statues of Our Lady  to 3rd and Chouteau, "Icon Avenue", to participate in a Marian procession into the finish line. Don't miss this rare opportunity!

At 10:30 am, there will be a family-friendly Victory Festival - Live Music, Barbecue, Beer/Soda, Kid's Games, Clowns, Balloon Artists (free), and the Second Annual Great Cookie Sale Featuring area bakeries. Ample parking and shuttles provided.

As well as registered participants, volunteers for various service tasks (short shifts available) are needed to help us make this a success. Call Jim H. at 618-741-9308 to volunteer.
