Holy Spirit Parish is now accepting registrations for the August 2026 Women’s ACTS Retreat weekend. This retreat offers the opportunity to renew you spiritually and to strengthen your faith and its applications in your daily life.
The retreat begins on Thursday evening with check-in at 6:00pm at the Holy Spirit Annex. Transportation will be provided to and from the Pallottine Renewal Center. The retreat concludes after the 11:00 am Mass on Sunday with a reception following.
Prior to the retreat, you will receive a letter describing what to bring with you (clothing, reading material, etc.) for the weekend.
The cost for each retreatant is $250. A deposit of $50 is requested in order to reserve your place. The balance, $200, will be due by the time of check-in on Thursday. Financial considerations should not prevent anyone from attending this retreat, as scholarships are available. If you wish to inquire about special arrangements or need more information, please contact any of the retreat’s directors:
Kathy Farrar: 314-537-5447
Pam de Garcia: 314-520-6702

A: The retreat begins on Thursday night at 6 pm and is complete after 11:00 am Mass on Sunday at Holy Spirit.
A: For the retreat, bring very casual, comfortable clothing. While most of the activities take place indoors, you will likely spend some time outdoors. Also, pack things you would typically bring for a short trip such as toiletries, medications, etc. Bedding and towels are provided, but you might want to pack a pillow and an extra towel. Also bring clothes appropriate for Mass on Sunday.
A: You will have a private room with your own restroom facilities. Three meals are served daily along with ample snack options. Water, soda, coffee, and tea will also be available.
A: All are invited, Catholics and non-Catholics in or outside of Holy Spirit parish. The only requirement is a willingness to spend more time with God and others.
A: Members of Holy Spirit parish will run the retreat. They spend time prior to the retreat, meeting weekly and preparing spiritually for the retreat, as well as handling most of the planning and logistics for the weekend. Each team has a priest who has a role in the weekend, too.
A: This retreat is a little different, and part of the blessing and enjoyment of the weekend is discovering what it means to you as it happens. For this reason, it is hard to go into too many specifics, but there is prayer, reflection, Mass, opportunity for sacraments, and discussion. You can choose to participate in the discussion as much or as little as you like.
A: The short answer is no, you don’t have to do anything after the retreat. Hopefully, during your retreat you learn things about your faith, yourself, and the way others practice their faith.
The goal is not to build a larger parish retreat group; it is to help you build a stronger relationship with Jesus and with others in the parish community.
However, you will have the opportunity for future participation, should you wish to.
A: Retreatants must be at least 21 years old.
A: Alcohol is not allowed on the ACTS Retreat.
The ACTS Retreat movement began in San Antonio, Texas in 1997 and came to St. Louis in the early 2000s. It is now thriving in over 65 parishes in St. Louis and many other cities. ACTS Retreats are parish-based, uplifting, and faith-enriching weekends. Part of the ACTS purpose is assisting parishes and parishioners in spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ among Catholic communities with faith-filled enrichment
